Olivia Biffot

Storytelling with Actress Olivia Biffot

My guest today is Olivia Biffot, a French-Gabonese actress and screenwriter based in Los Angeles. I met Olivia a few years ago during a long weekend on the West coast with friends and was struck by her humour and bright personality, but also her frankness, which I couldn't help but admire.
I have been following her work ever since, and it is without surprise that i saw her grow and thrive as a stand-up comedian, actress, and now screenwriter.
In June of 2020, at the heights of the Black Lives Matter protests spreading in America, she published a simple video explaining her experience of racism in the many countries that she's lived in, but especially in France. It quickly became viral in a way that she didn't expect, and I honestly wish everybody would watch this video, it will be linked in the show notes for this episode.

She tells us more about leaving behind her degree in politics to embrace acting, the transition to being a writer and what creativity means to her. As you'll see, we had a very nice chat recording this and I hope you'll like it. Let's get into the show.

See the video that we're referencing in the episode.
